Journal of Health Professions and Practice (MEDICA) organizes submitted manuscripts according to their primary disciplinary focus within nursing, midwifery, and pharmacy.

Nursing

This section covers scholarly works related to nursing science, nursing care, nursing practice, nursing education, nursing research, professional competencies, and the development of nursing knowledge.

Midwifery

This section covers scholarly works related to midwifery science, midwifery care, midwifery practice, midwifery education, midwifery research, professional competencies, and the development of midwifery knowledge.

Pharmacy

This section covers scholarly works related to pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical care, pharmacy education, pharmacy research, professional competencies, and the development of pharmaceutical knowledge.

Interdisciplinary and Interprofessional Studies

This section covers studies involving two or more of the journal's core disciplines, particularly research addressing shared professional education, competency development, interprofessional learning, professional practice, communication, collaboration, and related interdisciplinary topics.

Manuscripts are assigned to the most appropriate section according to their primary subject matter and scholarly contribution. The assignment of a manuscript to a particular section does not affect the journal's peer-review standards or editorial decision-making process.

The Editor-in-Chief and/or Section Editors may determine the most appropriate section for a manuscript when its subject matter overlaps between sections.
